Joe
Garcia -
Congas/Percussion
- grew up listening
to Latin music that
played from a Mexican
club behind his home.
At familia gatherings
his dad and uncles
would sing and play
guitar to old Mexican
songs. The love of
Latin music especially
the introduction
of "Santana" inspired
Joe to master the
art of the Conga.
Joe has performed
with many local bands
at many venues all
over California and
Nevada. While performing
Joe met a talented
musician and now
best friend Frank
Nieto. With Frank
they created Sounds
Of Santana.
At a recent performance
at Harrah's Reno
Joe and Frank decided
to start working
on a new original
CD.

music.
Frank "Paco" Nieto - Lead Guitar & Vocals
- began writing music
at the age of eleven
and started playing
guitar at the age of
twelve. He began playing
at parties for money
when he was thirteen.
Paco has performed
in various bands throughout
California and Nevada.
He follows in the footsteps
of his father who was
a bandleader and a
versatile musician.
He grew up listening
to his parents Mexican
and Flamenco music.
The mixture of those
forms of music with
the American music
of the 50's 60's and
70's played a major
role in the development
of his unique musical
style. Paco sites his
main guitar influences
as Carlos Santana,
Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy
Page and Gabor Szabo.
He credits his good
friend and conguero,
Joe Garcia for helping
him form the band Sounds
Of Santana .
Their mutual admiration
of Carlos Santana makes
it an honor for them
to perform the music
of the band, Santana.
