Plasterman

 Artist Profile:

The initial inspiration came from a picture in a wallpaper sample book.  Shortly after seeing it, part-time thespian and professional child educator Clark M. Clark decided to create a plaster-looking human statue titled "Totally Plastered in Victoria" in the Spring of 2000.

He put together an all-white costume from hat to shoes covered head and hands with kids’ face paint, make-shifted a hand drawn sign, wrapped a white sheet around a milk crate, then stood along Victoria Harbor’s Lower Causeway. Amused and enthused by public response, he worked with his brother (construction) and sister (lettering) to make a proper platform.  As well, he invested in performance make-up and really good soap.

Since that first Spring, Plasterman has gone and continued to go through many changes, especially in the variety of costumes and dance moves.  As years go by, Clark looks forward to bringing his coin-operated human statue to various fairs, festivals, trade shows, sporting events, private functions, charity activities and television appearances.
